Background of the Study

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) has become a cornerstone of business strategy, enabling firms to build stronger relationships with clients, improve service delivery, and foster loyalty (Peppers & Rogers, 2024).

Insurance firms in Zamfara State operate in a competitive environment where customer satisfaction is key to growth. Effective CRM strategies, such as personalized communication, efficient claims processing, and digital platforms, can significantly enhance business performance (Abdullahi & Musa, 2023).

This study examines the role of CRM strategies in driving business growth among insurance firms in Zamfara State.

Statement of the Problem

Many insurance firms in Zamfara State face challenges in retaining customers and driving growth due to poor CRM practices. Issues such as delayed claims processing, lack of personalized services, and inadequate communication channels hinder their ability to build long-term customer relationships (Yakubu et al., 2025).

Despite the importance of CRM, limited research exists on its application in the insurance sector in Zamfara State. This study seeks to explore how CRM strategies influence business growth in this context.

Objectives of the Study

  1. To analyze the role of CRM strategies in driving business growth in insurance firms.
  2. To identify the CRM practices employed by insurance firms in Zamfara State.
  3. To evaluate the challenges faced in implementing CRM strategies.

Research Questions

  1. How do CRM strategies influence business growth in insurance firms?
  2. What CRM practices are commonly employed by insurance firms in Zamfara State?
  3. What challenges hinder the implementation of CRM strategies?

Research Hypotheses

  1. CRM strategies significantly influence business growth in insurance firms.
  2. Personalized communication positively impacts customer retention and growth.
  3. Challenges in CRM implementation negatively affect business performance.

Scope and Limitations of the Study

The study focuses on insurance firms in Zamfara State, analyzing CRM strategies and their impact on business growth from 2023 to 2025. It excludes other financial institutions and firms outside Zamfara State. Limitations include limited access to customer feedback data.
